Screen detection

A seal proves that a photo or video was captured with the Clickseal camera on a genuine phone. It cannot show what the camera was pointed at. Filming content displayed on another screen is the one way to bring outside or AI-generated footage onto Clickseal, and screen detection exists to identify it.

How it works

From posting to a decision.

01

Every post is checked

Every photo and video posted on Clickseal, including stories, goes through our screen detection system.

02

Flagged for review

If the system flags a post, it is sent to a Clickseal moderator. The system only flags posts; it never makes a decision on its own.

03

A moderator decides

The moderator reviews the post and decides whether it is real, real with a screen in it, or in breach of our policy.

Anyone can also report a post as "This isn't real", which sends it to the same review.

Our policy

Screens in the picture are allowed.
Misrepresenting them is not.

Screens are part of everyday life, and filming them is fine. Our policy prohibits filming a screen with the intent to pass its content off as a real scene captured with the Clickseal camera.

Allowed

  • Screens that are part of the sceneA television in the room, a laptop on a desk, or a phone in someone's hand.
  • Screens at events and in public placesThe screens at a concert, a match on a television, a scoreboard or a departure board.
  • Content shown openly on a screenA game, a message or a presentation, filmed so that it is clear you are recording a screen.

If a moderator reviews a post like this, it stays up with a ▭ Shows a screen label, so viewers know what they are seeing. There is no penalty.

Not allowed

  • Presenting screen content as your own captureFilming a video, film or someone else's footage from a screen with the intent to pass it off as real.
  • AI-generated contentDisplaying AI-generated images or video on a screen and filming them to obtain a seal.
  • Concealing a screenFraming or cropping a screen so that viewers would believe its content happened in front of the camera.

Posts that break this policy are removed, and the account may be suspended. We have a zero tolerance policy for AI-generated content: it results in the immediate removal of the account. See our Terms of Service for more information.

Good to know

How reviews work.

A person always decides

No post is removed by the system alone. A post without a screen can occasionally be flagged, which is why every flag is reviewed by a person.

It doesn't catch everything

Screen detection identifies many screens, but not every one. Anyone can report a post as "This isn't real", and moderators can also flag posts themselves.

Think we got it wrong?

If you believe a decision was wrong, contact support@clickseal.app and a person will review it again.
